How BE Connected handles your information
BE Connected is run by Build Px. This notice covers the member portal at members.be-connected.co.
What we collect
When you apply to a group or build your profile, we collect your name, work email, company, role, location and anything else you choose to add: LinkedIn, mobile and WhatsApp numbers, a personal email, a bio, your experience and the areas you work in. If you joined a group through a form (for example the HR & People join form), we use the details you gave there to set up your invite.
Why we collect it
To decide applications to each group, run the groups and their catch-ups, and let members get to know and contact each other. We don't sell your information, and we don't add you to recruitment databases or other products because you joined a group.
Who can see it
Your name, role, company and location are visible to members of the groups you belong to. Everything else follows the choice you make for each item: “Members of my groups” or “Only me”. Seton Walsh-Rose and Ness Garcia, who run BE Connected, can see your full profile to manage the groups, and can see your WhatsApp number to add you to a group chat. Saved contacts and their notes are private to the person who saved them.
The newsletter
Joining a group doesn't sign you up to anything else. We only send the BE Connected newsletter if you said yes, and you can change your answer any time in My profile.
Where it's kept
Your profile is stored with our service providers: Neon (database), Clerk (login) and Vercel (hosting). Some of them may store information outside Australia.
Seeing, changing or removing your information
You can see and change your profile at any time in My profile, and leave any group yourself. To get a copy of your information, have it removed, or make a complaint about how it's been handled, contact Build Px at people@buildpx.co.
